How Does It Work?

-Flat Pedals are included in the rentals price
-Other cleat pedals such  Shimano SPD SL / Shimano SPD / Look Pedals or Speed Play Pedals can be rented on the checkout. 

-Only some Models can be used for Bike Touring and can be booked With Back bike racks as Extra equipment. 
At Lisbon Bike Rentals, our bike rental service operates on a per-day basis rather than 24-hour periods. This approach ensures that each bike undergoes thorough checking and cleaning before the next guest’s adventure begins. While some models offer hourly or half-day rentals, our focus remains on providing convenience and flexibility for longer-term rentals.
We recommend to use our Insurance in order to protected you from damages in a rental equipment. Please notice that deposits are mandatory to keep our bikes without damages and secure for thief or losses.

Rental day period starts at 9:00 and ends at 18:00. Pickups and bicycle returns are made in our Lisbon Location shop at Av. 24 de Julho 4A, Lisboa.

If we cannot accept your pre-reservation we will refund you immediately the reservation payment amount.  

The bike deposit, or security deposit, is calculated based on the total amount due at the time of pickup at our shop. You can use the same credit card for both the booking and the deposit. Please make a reservation using our booking app to see the security deposit amount for each bicycle. Deposits will be display using our booking app at the end of a reservation and before any payment.

2. Water Bottle: Stay hydrated with enough water for your ride
3. Sunscreen: Protect your skin from sunburn.
4. Cycling Gloves: For comfort and grip on the handlebars.
5. Appropriate Clothing: Wear breathable, moisture-wicking clothes and consider padded shorts for added comfort.
6. Bike Tools: Bring a multi-tool, tire levers, and a spare inner tube for quick repairs.
7. First Aid Kit: A small kit for minor injuries.
8. Identification: Carry ID and emergency contact information.
9. Phone: For navigation and emergencies.
10. Snacks: Energy bars or fruit for quick energy during long rides.
11. Light and Reflectors: If riding in low-light conditions, have front and rear lights.
12. Bike Lock: To secure your bike when you stop.

2. We do not rent cycling shoes!

Please bring the shoes you choose to ride in. We recommend you bring your pedals as well. Yet you can rent cleats pedals as extra equipment or get a flat pedal platform for free. Bring any items that might make your riding experience better (saddle, cycling shorts, cycling computer, front or rear hydration systems).
You can adquire one of our Cycling bottles in your order. 

3. We don’t do pickup and delivery of bikes. Although Lisbon is well-served by Uber and other transportation options, we have chosen not to offer a bike pickup and delivery service for several reasons:

1. Efficiency and Flexibility: Our primary focus is on providing a streamlined, hassle-free experience for customers at our central location on Av. 24 de Julho 4A, which is easily accessible by various means of transport. By centralizing pickups and returns, we can ensure that customers can efficiently collect and return their bikes within the designated rental hours.

2. Bike Condition and Safety: Handling and transporting bikes outside of a controlled environment can increase the risk of damage. At our location, we can conduct a thorough pre-rental check to ensure that each bike is in perfect working order, ensuring the safety of the rider.

3. Optimized Service with Reservation-Only System: Since we operate by reservation only, scheduling and managing in-person pickups ensures we maintain personalized service quality and accommodate each customer’s specific needs.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN A RENTAL?

1. Cleat pedals can be optional as extra.
2. Bicycle with flat pedals and bottle cage.
3. Repair kits (mini-pump or Co2 cartridge, tire levers, specific-tool and spare tube) are provided with the rental installed im a compact saddle bag.
4. Customers are responsible for any lost items or tubes used. 
5. Helmets, gps holders, water bottles, etc. are available with your bike as extra equipment.
6. Bike Locks can be rented as extra equipment. 
7. Professional cyclist guide can be selected In the end of a reservation.

Booking policy

• Rentals must be picked up no later than 5:30 PM, as the store closes at 6:00 PM.

• Rates are based on a 24-hour rental period, except for urban bikes, which can be rented for a half-day.

• All rental items must be returned by the end date specified in your reservation.

• Your reservation secures the bike(s) for the exact dates you select. For single-day rentals, the bike must be returned the same day. If you wish to rent the bike for multiple days, please select the appropriate start and end dates during the reservation process.

• To secure your reservation, credit card information is required. However, your card will not be charged until you return the bike(s). At that time, you may choose your preferred payment method.

All the pick-ups and drop-offs have to be done at our LBR Shop / Well Being Cycling in Lisbon. 

However we are quite central and you can be on our shop by train or metro, and you can start a nice ride from here.

1. REFUND RULES and cancelations

Everyday we work hard to have all bikes ready to our costumers and cyclists friends. This means that bookings are blocked to other cyclists to get a bike in a certain period of time. The minimum that we can accept any changes is up to 7 days before the pickup of a cycling equipment.  

All reservations can be canceled 24 hours after a booking payment to cancel without any fees. For cancellation within 7 days of departure, no refund will be made.

GENERAL CONDITIONS OF HIRE  LISBON BIKE RENTALS ®

1. 1. LISBON BIKE RENTALS is a Premium bike company that provides a professional service from cyclists to cyclists. 
   2. The customer needs to have experience in the proper use of a Premium Bicycle, protecting from damages and loss. 
   3. We encourage everyone to have travel insurance that covers damages. 
   4. Theft, loss, broken frame or damage wheels is not covered by any insurance company in Portugal and the client is fully responsible for incidental theft or loss of any equipment. 
   5. Clients can request in LISBON BIKE RENTALS® shop the best practices to use the rental equipment and to repair a flat tire.
   6. Rental day period starts at 9:00 and ends at 18:00. Pickups and bicycle returns are made in our Lisbon Location shop at Av. 24 de Julho 4A, Lisboa.
   7. Bookings can only be refundable up to 7 days before the rental day. A voucher code can be offered in any case of an issue reported by the customer of any issue in the rental equipment. 
   8.  The customer is responsible for all the equipment in this contract and responsible to cyclists at least 16 years old.
   9. The client must have a valid identification card. Passport is mandatory in case of non EU citizens. 
   10. The vehicle described on this hire agreement must be driven exclusively over the responsibility of who signed the rental agreement and he will be responsible for all the infringements to the road, civil and the Portuguese penal code.
   11.  All the rental equipment must be returned on the day and hour established. Customers are obligated to inform LISBON BIKE RENTALS about any unexpected delay, otherwise the proper authorities will be alerted about the situation. 
   12.  For each additional hour past the end of the contract, customers will be charged an additional amount of 20% over the contracted price.
   13. If the customer doesn’t return the rental equipment at the end of the rental period will be charged  the total amount of the Vehicle Market price.
   14. The rental price excludes mechanical support, parking fees, fines, and pickup of the vehicle in case of accident or in case of forced removal by the local authorities or damages caused to the vehicle even though caused by third parties.
   15. The customer must check with LISBON BIKE RENTALS the conditions of the vehicle when collecting and delivering it and can be reported after 1 hour of testing in order to be repaired or change the vehicle or rental equipment.
   16. The vehicle must be returned to the same location where it has been hired. The eventual needs of transportation to return will be charged according to the LISBON BIKE RENTALS price list.
   17. The vehicle is not allowed to circulate out of Portugal and is prohibited to participate in competition events.
   18. The customer is always responsible for damages affected to the rented vehicle as well as any other equipment supplied. The customer is obliged to take good care of the rented equipment and to protect it from damage, loss or theft. Otherwise, will be charged with the total deposit amount plus extra costs of the damage. 
   19. The deposit value is expressed in the deposit field in the Rental document and needs to be charged by credit card on the collecting day. (other methods can be agreed)
   20. The returned bicycle with excessive cleaning needs will incur a 9€ +VAT  cleaning fee per bicycle.
   21.  LISBON BIKE RENTALS only rents a vehicle. Responsibly at all times will not hold LISBON BIKE RENTALS, responsible for any loss, damage or injury including death to persons or property with regard to the use of the cycle(s) and equipment hired. You accept responsibility to Indemnify LISBON BIKE RENTALS against any claim, interest, demand or expense in respect of such injury or damage.
